Today, singer-songwriter Logan Henderson released his debut solo album titled Echoes of Departures and the Endless Street of Dreams Pt. 1  following the success of his singles “Sleepwalker” and “Bite My Tongue.” The previous Big Time Rush member talks about the growth of his sound and creating his own vision with the album.

Today is for them as much as it is for me.

You were previously in the band and on the Nickelodeon series “Big Time Rush.” How have the experiences prepared you for your solo music career?
It was a great and wild ride, and I am grateful for the experiences that I have had from BTR. Those moments have helped shape my vision for what I want to create as an artist.

Who were some of your musical influences growing up?
I listened to everything growing up and I have so much admiration for all the artists that inspired my generation. I can list the greats, but really, it was the overall catalog of artists that shaped me.

Today you release your debut solo album, Echoes of Departures and the Endless Street of Dreams Pt. 1. What’s going through your mind?
Surreal, and I have a lot of love and respect for the journey even through the hard times. I share today with all my fans, friends, and family who have encouraged my growth and who have grown with me. Today is for them as much as it is for me.

How would you describe the sound of the album?
I try to remain as fluid as possible in the studio and when writing. Being truthful and working with sound that resonates with me…

How involved were you in the writing and production of the album? Take us through the process.
I’m involved in every aspect of this project. From start to finish, there isn’t any one way I choose to write or record. Sometimes it starts with a vocal / melody concept, sometimes it can start as simple as a guitar riff.

Where did you draw inspiration from for this album?
I can find inspiration anywhere & everywhere.

What’s the story behind “Bite My Tongue”?
It was written out of sheer frustration of not feeling connected, and not having my shit together.  Sometimes there are a few special people in your life that keep you grounded and encourage you to be the best version of yourself; this is “Bite My Tongue”.

Through your journey in music, how would you say your sound has evolved?
I’m always experimenting in the studio, and push myself to surprise myself musically and with the way I write.

With your current knowledge of the industry, what advice would you give to your younger self?
Stay humble, stay hungry, and trust yourself.

What are you most excited about for your solo career?
The ride.

What can we look forward to next from you?
More music and more touring, all love…. see you soon.
